Entitled is a Shopify app built and operated by Banana For Scale AS ("we", "us"). This page explains what data the app collects when you install it on your Shopify store, what we do with it, who we share it with, and how you can control it. It applies to the Entitled app only, not to bananaforscale.biz or our other products.
What we collect
When you install Entitled, we read data through the Shopify Admin API that the app's permissions cover: your store domain and basic shop details (name, owner name and email, plan, currency, timezone), your product, collection, page and blog catalog (titles, descriptions, types, tags, prices, images, existing SEO fields), your shop's policies, and app configuration you save inside Entitled (AI profile, templates, custom variables, FAQ steering, connection settings). We do not request access to your customers' personal data, orders, or payment information, and the app's permission scopes do not include them.
We also record usage events tied to your store domain — installs, uninstalls, AI generations, applies, readiness scans, visibility runs, and similar in-app actions — to operate the app, calculate plan usage, and understand what's working.
How AI features use your data
One-click AI optimize and AI-generated FAQs send relevant product, page and store-profile text to Anthropic (Claude) to draft suggestions. Nothing Anthropic drafts is applied to your store until you review and approve it, unless you've explicitly turned on auto-apply for a given entity type, in which case new items are optimized automatically using the same AI profile and rules you configured.
AI Visibility sampling sends short, store-specific prompts to Perplexity, OpenAI and Anthropic to check whether those assistants mention your store in their answers. This only shares the sample prompt and your brand/product context needed to build it — it does not share customer data.
Search and indexing connections
If you connect Bing Webmaster Tools or Google Search Console, both optional, we read search performance data (queries, clicks, impressions, indexing status) for the property you verify and select, to show it to you inside Entitled and to ground AI suggestions and FAQs in real search phrases. These connections are read-only, scoped to the property you choose, and can be disconnected at any time from Settings — doing so deletes the stored credentials.
Every title and description change Entitled makes is also submitted, on your behalf, to IndexNow (which Bing, Yandex and Naver read from) so those search engines know a page changed. This submission is limited to the changed page's URL — no personal data is included.
Where data lives
App configuration you set inside Entitled — templates, AI profile, connection settings, undo snapshots — is stored as metafields on your own Shopify store, in the "entitled" namespace, so it stays with your store data. Install records, billing status and usage events are stored in our database (Supabase). The app runs on Vercel. Stored access tokens are encrypted at rest.
Who we share data with
Shopify (the platform Entitled runs on), Anthropic, OpenAI and Perplexity (AI generation and visibility sampling), Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (application hosting), Resend (transactional email), Klaviyo (marketing email, only for stores that opt in), Bing and Google (search data, only if you connect them), and IndexNow's search-engine partners (URL submission only). We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone outside of running the app and the integrations above.
Data retention and deletion
We keep the data above for as long as the app is installed, to operate it. When you uninstall, we stop processing new data for your store. Entitled implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) and deletes or anonymizes retained records in response to them, as Shopify requires of every app.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the data we hold about your store, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email entitled@bananaforscale.biz.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
